March Newsletter 2021

Chairman’s Corner – Simon Lichtenberg

Dear Members and Readers

With the arrival of Spring in March, it brought about a new season of change and along with that an Annual General Meeting that determined who will be on the board of the DCCC for the year 2021. Before I introduce myself as the new Chairman, I’d first like to give a big thanks to those from the board who have now left us. Firstly, Kim Scheibel for the great work he has done as Chairman leading the DCCC this past year. If you have met Kim, then you know I have big shoes to fill, both with the work he’s done and the height he carries himself at! I’d also like to thank Susanne Klemp and Niels Thomsen, they have been a huge part of making our DCCC F&B Working group a success and I wish them all the best moving forward!

Now on to the new team, this year we welcome some familiar faces and new faces to continue on the board. I, Simon Lichtenberg, have been with the Danish Chamber since the very beginning and I am very happy to take on the role of Chairman working alongside a capable team consisting of Ann Sophie de Meester who is now Vice-Chair, Lars Norregaard continuing as Treasurer and Manuel Veiga Aldemira as Secretary to the board. The remaining board members are as follows:

  • Lotte Norgreen, Vikinor
  • Andreas Lundqvist, Danfoss
  • Christy Chen Møller, ChinaBase Travel
  • Lars Myrup, Stokke
  • Yingli Wu, Wrist
  • Poul Kristensen, WE-Dragons
  • Klaus Bjorkgren, Nordic Match
  • Jonas Frank, Martin Bencher

With the new team and general manager Ellen-Anan Kier, we aim to make the Danish Chamber a better and stronger organization than it’s ever been before, and on that note, be ready to welcome Ellen to your offices so we can tell you more about what we do and hear about what you’re interested in!

In this new year, you’ll see offline events kick up a notch and a reduction in online webinars. 2020 was a year with countless online activities from all sorts of organisations, but with the vaccines rolling out and restrictions within China loosening their grip, we expect to host more events where you’re able to network, learn and develop yourself around like-minded peers!

As you may already know, the DCCC is also making strides towards becoming a Pan-China Danish Chamber and there are many things are underway to make that happen in the near future!

I’d also like to give a warm welcome to our newest member Nordic Match who joined in March, they are M&A and strategy advisors with their headquarters in Shanghai. Welcome to the DCCC!

Below you can see the events that we held in March and the upcoming events in April, we hope to see you there!

That’s all from me for now,

Kind regards,

Simon Lichtenberg
