Newsletter November 2020

Chairman’s Corner – Kim Scheibel

Dear DCCC friends and colleagues,If it was possible to push “Alt+Ctrl+Del” twice and restart 2020, then I believe many would like to do so. 2020 has possibly been the strangest year within my +40year working career, but despite the challenges, then there have also been good moments at least for some. So let us all look towards 2021 with hope for a safer future, with a Covid-19 vaccine hopefully becoming available for everyone, so we can return to our “new” normal.

There will without a doubt here in China be an increased focus on the “Blue Sky” drive, so any industry who have an environmental agenda;  product; idea or service to offer should really focus on China in the coming years. China is one of the (only) countries in the world, who have the power and financial strength to transform ideas to reality right now.

The collaboration between the 3 DCCC chambers in China is growing closer and closer. The Chairman group recently met to discuss future cooperation points, starting with the low hanging fruits, like aligning our look at the various on-line platforms and the way we are seen from the outside world, more initiatives will continue to follow in the coming months.

Our CFO group (Finance/IT/Legal) is up running again here in Shanghai, another great forum to exchange views and ideas among equals. Likewise then our DCCC Pan China Food Group is just about to meet for the first time here in Shanghai on 9th Dec., so if you are “hungry” to join then please do not hesitate to contact the DCCC Secretariat. Hopefully within long then we will also manage to restart our HR group again – if interested in joining this group, then please let us hear from you.

Congratulations to Emerging Leaders Chinese Training on 10th November. Where 25 participants from Danish, Finnish and Swedish companies attended the three different training courses which ran from September to November 2020.

Within December we will start sending out renewals of DCCC membership, so look out for the nice letters from Laura. Remember that we during last year AGM agreed to introduce some changes to the fees, so do not be surprised you have had almost 1 year to get used to the small increases.

Let me also make a warm welcome to our new individual member:
Jan Vilhelm Iversen, representing CMA CGM, but being a Danish national, Jan of course wants to support DCCC – Thanks.

I will also like to thank Vikinor and especially Lotte Norgreen, for arranging together with Henkes a fantastic Danish Christmas evening. And also a huge thank you to all the “Mandelgave” sponsors: Vikinor, GN ReSound, RAINS, Anthon Berg, Danish Crown, Maersk, Wagas, Nordic Hub China, Brothers Kebab, Royal Greenland, Laiba and HENKES.

When you read these lines you have probably already burned down the Christmas candlelight first number with only 23 more days to go to Xmas, I will like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas or as we say in Danish “En rigtig Glædelig Jul” to you and your families.

Danes Worldwide Corner

“Turnaround times for legal questions back to normal

In the time since our legal department began offering assistance in legal matters in March 2020, our legal advisors Karoline Blyt, Helene Larsen, and Anne Louise Schmidt have handled more than 2,000 questions from members of Danes Worldwide.

The advisors worked as hard as they could but were unable to keep up with demand. Turnaround times reached 4-6 weeks, much to our regret. By now, however, we have managed to get through the backlog, and w are pleased to say that turnaround times are back to normal.

Should you have a question or concern requiring legal advice – say, regarding citizenship, family unification, a visa, or a residence permit – please feel free to write to jura@danes.dk
