Newsletter October 2021

Board’s Corner

Shanghai, November 4, 2021

Dear DCCC members,

We are now closing in on the end of 2021. October is over where we enjoyed a nice week’s break, spending quality time with family as well as enjoying a pleasant change in the weather. I hope many in China enjoyed taking the time seeing what China has to offer through domestic travel or simply exploring more of the city in which you live.

October was yet another month reminding us that currently things are seldom constant and often testing the resilience of many of our members that being corporate or individuals. In October this was related to the power restrictions and the resulting impacts of this, which really took effect in October. This year many industries have been heavily impacted by various events that in previous year would be categorized as anomalies. These are supply chain disruption, increasing transportation and raw material costs to mention a few and this was yet another event reminding us to stay sharp and resilient in this current market of uncertainty.

During this fall period we hosted several events on hot topics including starting our 2nd DCCC training of the year on “emotional intelligence and leadership”, followed by an interesting session on data privacy and protection laws in China, RMB Internationalization and we had our first webinar in Q4 with more to come so make sure to keep an eye out.

As well as all these events that took place during October, we also saw 7 new members joining the DCCC and on behalf of the board, I would like to wish them all a warm welcome – NTG Air & Ocean (Shanghai) Ltd and Liqtech Emission Control A/S as corporate members and Henrik Platz, Raymond Due, Erik Licht , Jennie Ho and Line Bertheussen as individual members.

Finally, as we leave October, we enter one of the most anticipated months in terms of DCCC events. We kick it off with the Business Person of the year gala on Saturday November 13th. As you are reading this letter hot off the press you have 1 day left to secure your ticket to what will be the party of the year. Don’t miss out!!

This followed by an event hosted by the DCCC – Nordic Marketing day on November 17th. More information will be announced on this shortly.

Furthermore, this may only be November but we all know how much we love to celebrate the festive period that is Christmas so make sure to mark your calendar as the DCCC Christmas lunch will be held on November 27th . We look forward to another fantastic lunch celebrated with many of you.

I wish you all a great November and look forward to seeing you at the Bvlgari Hotel on November 13th!
